The Last Day

Monday, November 30, 2009

The end is near, people!

I just now realized I actually titled this post "The Last Post". No, 'fraid not. I think I'm going to continue beating this dead horse for a while yet.

Although I've been suffering through the blahs this month, it really hasn't been that bed. I've kept fairly busy so that it has flown by with very little wallow time. I also watched Precious on Sunday afternoon, and watching a 15 year old become a homeless single mom to 2 babies who are the result of incest... well, that puts things into perspective

Our work party was this weekend, which was fun. As likely the only party I'll take part in this year, it'll do.

Which means my thoughts are turning to Christmas - that's right, I said it. I love snow and presents and rich food and days off and shopping and debt. December 1st is really the only decent time to even think about, much less start decorating for, Christmas. I must say, I quietly judge all those who have lights and (*gasp!*) trees up before December 1st. But after that, it's open game.

So now that it is over, on a scale of one to ten.. how would you rate this November in comparison to previous Novembers? (One being it was almost entirely harmless in comparison to Novembers of the past, and 10 being that it was far, far, far worse than Novembers of the past)

I do not have a least favourite month. I have not really paid much attention to notice if there is a particular month during which the most bad shit happens to me. I suspect it would probably be July though because it was during July of 2003 that my grandparents died, my great-aunt died, and my cousin was hit by a car. All within two weeks! Still, I like Julys. I even enjoy the anniversary of my grandparents' death because it is the same day that 7-11 gives out free slurpees to celebrate itself.

I'd give it a 8. Last year's Nov. was particularly awful, so in comparison, this was pretty good. Really, this November only lost the points because of my house leaking and my general states of malaise.
